THE OGIŃSKI PALACE

First, a few words about the history of the Oginski Palace, which dates back to 1441 and is inextricably connected with the history of the city of Siedlce. Initially, it was a wooden manor house surrounded by an Italian garden, in the place of which a brick palace was built on the initiative of Prince Kazimierz Czartoryski in the years 1730-1740.

In the 1770s, the palace became the property of Aleksandra Oginska and it owes its classical appearance to her. Within 10 years, she rebuilt the palace from the foundations and created a sentimental-style park around it, which is called Alexandria.

Owing to Oginska, the city became an important place on the cultural map of Poland. After her childless death, the property returned to the Czartoryskis family.

Today it is the seat of the University authorities - the UPH Rector’s Office.

In the Rectorate you will find, among others, the Career Office and the Department of Science and International Cooperation where you will get information and assistance on the Erasmus + program.
