The Magna Charta Universitatum Declaration was established in 1988 on the occasion of the 900th anniversary of the world’s oldest university, the University of Bologna. It represents a declaration of fundamental values and principles that define the identity of a university as an institution of social trust, academic freedom, and public responsibility. A university applying to become one of its signatories must demonstrate respect for the principles of autonomy, ethics, openness, and commitment — both locally and globally. We are pleased to announce that the University of Siedlce has met the criteria set out in the Magna Charta and has joined this community. The official signing ceremony will take place in London on November 13 this year.

On June 10, 2025, a sightseeing trip to Kazimierz Dolny was organized for Erasmus+ students. The group was guided by Ms. Elżbieta Finzi. The trip began with a boat cruise along the Vistula River, during which we enjoyed panoramic views of the town and the river’s meanders. We visited the ruins of the Royal Castle, featuring a well-preserved cylindrical watchtower, and then climbed the Hill of the Three Crosses, where we were rewarded with an impressive view of the Vistula valley and surrounding area. The next part of the program was a visit to the Goldsmithing Museum, where we admired a rich collection of sacred and table silverware, as well as contemporary Polish goldsmith art.

On May 14, 2025, a meeting was held at our university to discuss the establishment of international cooperation and the conditions for a future bilateral agreement with the University of Political and Economic European Studies “C. Stere” in Moldova. The special guest was Professor Elena Railean, Vice-Rector for Research at the Moldovan university. Our university was represented by Dr. Agnieszka Dybowska, Director of the Centre for International Cooperation. The meeting was also attended by Dr. hab. Janina Florczykiewicz, Professor of the University, and Dr. Ewa Wyczółkowska from the Institute of Pedagogy, Faculty of Social Sciences. The meeting was held in a warm and collaborative atmosphere. It served as an opportunity to exchange experiences and present potential areas of cooperation. Both parties expressed their willingness to move forward with the signing of a bilateral agreement, which would enable the implementation of joint research projects, student and academic staff exchanges, and the organization of international events.

On April 2, 2025, our university was visited by dr Wojciech Karczewski, Director of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). During the meeting with representatives of the academic community, Dr. Karczewski presented the available funding opportunities for academic cooperation offered by NAWA. He also encouraged active participation in the agency’s open calls for proposals.

Erasmus+ Study Mobility Recruitment for the 2025/2026 Academic Year The Centre for International Cooperation is launching the recruitment process for Erasmus+ study mobility (SMS) for the 2025/2026 academic year. Faculty-level recruitment will be conducted by departmental selection committees and will continue until March 31, 2025. Dear Colleagues, We would like to inform you that recruitment has officially opened today for staff mobility under the Erasmus+ programme: Erasmus+ KA131-HED – Mobility of students and staff in higher education institutions, Erasmus+ K171-HED – Mobility of students and staff in higher education institutions with third countries not associated to the Programme. The application period for staff runs from January 15 to February 20, 2025. Within the Erasmus+ KA131 2024 project, staff mobilities will take place between March 10, 2025, and February 28, 2026. Please note that this year’s recruitment rules have changed compared to those outlined in Rector’s Order No. 5/2024. We kindly ask you to familiarize yourself with the current Rector’s Order No. 1/2025 of January 14, 2025, concerning the organization and implementation of academic exchange under the Erasmus+ KA131-HED and K171-HED programmes.
